New moon in Cancer AND a total solar eclipse (visible in South America) makes for an intensely emotional start to this month’s moon cycle.  Cancer is a cardinal water sign, ruled by the moon – she wants us to own our emotions, the good, the bad and the ugly.  When we allow ourselves to pause and deeply FEEL and acknowledge what it is, we are actually feeling, then the healing begins.  It is when we ignore our feelings that we act up, act out and play the blame game with our nearest and dearest.  Eclipses can bring surprises, and push us to face our fears, but in so doing they can bring profound clarity and a rebirth of purpose.  This eclipse is asking us to hold ourselves in our hour of need, to deeply acknowledge our pain bodies; the shame, the guilt, the anger, the sadness, the disappointment, the self-sabotage etc.  Whatever the nature of the wound, when we sit and allow it a space to be in the harsh, uncompromising light of our personal truth it reveals itself as buried treasure. Just as the sun rebirths its golden rays from the depths of the eclipse.  Dare to be fully, fabulously, wholly you this new moon, with all your weirdness revealed, embraced and intact. Not everyone will love you for it, but then not everyone loves you anyway and it is exhausting for our psyche to constantly pretend to be someone or something we’re not.  Let go of the conditioning that says success comes in a particular job title, qualification or pay grade.  You’re alive, you’re breathing, you’re capable of dreaming and caring – you’re already a success, exactly as you are right now.  Cancer is the mother of the zodiac, time to care for that inner child, with unconditional love and tenderness.  That’s true self-care.  May you see yourself this new moon and utterly love what you see.
